ok so it's my fault, i just assumed my laptop would come with a microphone, but after spending some time on dells support found out the Inspiron E1505, does not come with a mic because dells research found out that the buyers are not using it, even though the hole is there you will have to have a microphone installed, so why don't they tell you this when you order the computer?
Well, why didn't you ask about this when you ordered the computer?
It's the consumers responsibility to find out if the product meets his/her needs, the distributor can't second guess what your needs are.
That being said, can't you either return the computer or get a usb compatible sound card with a Mic. I thik switching sound cards in laptops is a bit of a hassle but I'm sure it can be done.
cheers

You can't expect it to say everything that it doesn't have.
If it doesn't say that it has something, then its best to assume that it doesn't.

I've never heard of a computer come with a mic. At least when I shopped and every computer I've bought never had one. I have always had to supply my own.
